Jan sotm

Happy new year. We have a brand new stamp of the month blog hop for you.    {Teresa Scrivens} is where you should be coming from.  Next in this hop is {Connie Walsh}.  For the whole list  visit {Here}

I had a family emergency and  I can't find my stamp even to make something.  I finally found it, and quickly made it.  So there are mistakes but my crafting ability is nonexistent at this moment.

This is a 3 x 3 card.  I think these are so cute for valentines day and quick to make.  Even you little ones would be able to make one.  The heart on the stamp are actually a banner, but I thought making my own banner would be cute.  Everything is stamped with pigment ink, which is why the one heart is smudged.

Sotm jan - happy valentine's

Sorry.  I am updating my blog to include Pinterest buttons and for some reason this one changed to a recent post. This post was actaully from jan 2012. This stamp set will not be available.

Welcome to this months sotm blog hop. You should be coming her from{Beth Naumann}.   Next in the hop is {Mary Eisen}.

there is not much to say about this. I used La Belle Vie for the paper.  I did my first time coloring with the new alcohol markers. I think I did the coloring backwards tho.   And btw, I hate hand cutting.  I cut the flower and the sentiment.  This is why I have a cricut, so I don't have to hand cut. The card design can be found it "make it from the heart".

Thanks for joining me. Next in the hop is {Mary Eisen}

It's a birthday

My mom's birthday is coming up and I made her a card. I got the layout from Pinterest.

I do want to show you a trick that I use. i sometimes leave some sort of border when making cards with pattern paper. I think it just adds a little something and makes it look better. I took pictures of both way. One without a border and one with. I meant to use a smaller border around the card, but oops.

I am still running the mystery hostess party until dec 4th, so you have a couple days left. For every $100 you spend, not only will you get a free star item from Close To My Heart, you will also get a chance to win your choice of item for half off. You could get one of our cricut cartridges for onl $49.99. You will need to place your order under they mystery hostess gathering at nikkageers.ctmh.com

December stamp of the month blog hop

Welcome to this month's blog hop featuring the stamp set special care. This hop is a circle, so keep hopping til you get to where you started.  You should be coming from { Beth Naumann}.   Next in this hop is { Krista Hershberger}.   If you get lost along the way, you can find the whole list of bloggers {Here}

This is one of our 6 x 6 canvas'.  I painted it yellow with white acrylic paint dyed with honey reinker. The texture on the canvas is made using this technique.  I cut the overlay from pg 62 of the Artbooking cartridge at 6 in.  Then I used it as a stencil with texture paste, I had MS white texture paste.  As a wonderful mistake, it dried with a yellow tint to it.  I love it.  But it takes forever to dry.  The paper is from babycakes.  I wanted the grey banner to be vellum, but I didn't have any.  I was going to buy some, but I stopped at best buy first and got so ticked at them that I forgot to go next door to michaels and buy some.  That's a whole other story. A trick to get the washi tape to stay on the canvas, I used liquid glass.  It's a little hard to tell in the pic, but I scattered a few bitty sparkles inbetween the texture.  Another mistake I made, not so lucky on this one, was I forgot to double check where the hanger was before I added the paste.  Now I have to move the hanger, looks easy enough to do.

I hope you enjoyed this project and all the rest you will see on this hop.

Welcome to this months sotm blog hop

Welcome to this months sotm blog hop.  You should be arriving from {Wendy Coffman}.
Next in the hop is { Pamela Ellison}.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the list of the hop at {Melinda Everitt}blog.

So I was working along on my card, and I lost the sentiment.  It was on my desk and now it's not. This is the second stamp I have lost in a week.  I know it's here somewhere, but the only bad thing about clear stamps is the fact they are clear.  It is nearly impossible to find them, especially if it stuck to the bottom of something.  It was a cute Christmas card with the sentiment merry and bright. I have two other stamps that have that sentiment, but they are too large for my card.  Ahhhh.  Once I find the stamp, I will finish the card and post it.  I might have to do a detail cleaning to find it, which will have to wait till my craft fair is done.  I have a lot of tutus to make.
So until my art is posted, check out the rest of the artwork.  Next in the hop is { Pamela Ellison}.

Oct sotm - scandanavian wishes

Welcome to this months stamp of the month blog hop.  You should be coming from { Lalia Harris }. Next in this hop is { Sarita Schraeder }.

This stamp set is made for Christmas.  I made this simple card using Frosted papers.  The snowflake stamps are stamped with versamark.  You may be asking, "I didn't see these stamps in the book"  They aren't.  But they are still available.  They are a cricut coordinating stamp set, which are always available.  The large snowflake is from the new Artbooking cart.  This cart can be used for cards as well as scrapbooking and mini books.  I made sure to use the real dial size when cutting the snowflake.  I decided to make the simple card a little more with sparkles.  I believe the brad in the center of the snowflake is retired.  But sometimes you need to use up your stash.

This next card went to another holiday.  I saw the bird and thought valentine bird.  I masked the leaf the bird was holding with washi tape.  you can use washi tape for some many things and masking is a great one because of the low tack the tape.  I used a small heart from babycakes wotg.  Love is stamped with our new E sized stamps.  This was going to be a one layer card, but kept smudging the card.  The banner covers up the smudges.  Note : when stamping, have some sort of wet wipes around to clean your hands to avoid smudges.
I hope you enjoyed this showcase of scandanavian wishes.  To purchase your own, check out my website at nikkageers.ctmh.com.  This stamp is $5 when you purchase $50.

Sept sotm blog hop

Welcome to this months blog hop. You should have arrived from {Jen Rubio}.

So, I am in the middle of moving and I thought I had finished my project for this month, yet I can not find it.  I will try to get something posted hopefully, all depends on how quickly I can unpack my crafting supplies.  It's only a section of my supplies, just the ctmh stuff.  The rest is still in storage in Cali.  So hopefully it will be quick.  So do check back to see if I have posted any artwork.

Since you don't get to see any artwork right now, please hop to the next blog {Shirley Ross} and she will get you back into the creativeness.
