June product spotlight - Relay Race

Hello Everyone. This months spotlight is a little different this month. I hosted a relay race. What? A relay race you say? What does running have to do with paper crafting? Luckily, for me and my bad knee, no running was involved. I started with an inspiration piece, that i found from our idea book, and 'ran' with it. I used it to inspire a project and then passed it to the next in line. Then She took my project to inspire her own and passed it on. And so on, and so on..... But note, we only had one project to work with.We only saw the project that was right before us. Fun, huh? All the projects have remained a mystery to everyone else, except me because I'm mean. MUhahaha. (evil laugh. it sound more evil in person)

So....... ready to start the race? *shotgun in air* And their off. (OK, this had been in the works for two months now, its my pace of race)

The Original Inspiration piece (found from the Winter idea book 2010 pg 52)And the baton is passed, to myself. That was quick for me, lol.
I don't have the photo in yet. i need to find a place to print photos. Its of my cousin putting her hands on her mom's tummy while my aunt was pregnant with her second kid. The colors are inspired by the photo actually, not the card. I loved the three blocks in the card so i adapted it to a LO. And the long flower was inspired by the card, but i didn't have a long flower( i have this stamp set now tho) so i used the vine from Blessed SOTM.

And now I pass this baton to Adeline http://www.adeline-brill.blogspot.com/ , so go to her blog to see what she was inspired to do.

Now run, run as fast as you can(in the blog world, that can be very very slow, yay)

i got 50 followers

i got 50 follower. *does a little dance*. so excited about this. thank you everyone for following my blog.

relay race - the end

You should now have seen all of the relay race from start to finish. If you started at this post, please go to the begining at Relay Race.

below is all the projects, from begining to end.

Ok, now for some observations. Everyone followed the same sketch pretty much, which isvery interesting. Only three projects does not have butterflies. Two went with birds instead.Three projects use Sophia, and only Two used mainly Cardstock. Border punches, stickers and ribbon were very popular. The goofy scrapper used goofy in her project (i thought this was funny)Mainly layouts were inspired, only three made cards, and the original inspiration was a card.

H2H Challenge - Random stamping for dads

Ok, this is gonna be crazy because i am gonna do a bunch of posts around the next 2 days. I have the spotlight post going up tomarrow and I created two cards for card idol that i need to post. plus this one. wooo. my blog hasnt seen this much action for a while.

Well, on to this post. H2H is asking use to random stamping to use on our fathers day cards. What is random stamping? its exactly like it sounds like. you use your stamps randomly (as random as you can be being a artist) on to cardstock to make your own background paper.

the pattern paper on the bottom was made by random stamping.I used stamps from Enjoy Life and Backgrounds and Borders. The top pattern paper was also stamped. The only pattern paper I actually used was for the 'ribbon' strip. Even the sentiment was made with 3 different stamps. And the journal spot was stamped. I was a stampoholic on this card

I was inspired by this card on the Hero Arts Blog
