October Blog Hop - Christmas Gifts

WELCOME

Here is October's Blog Hop for Close to my Heart. 11 consultants will show you how to make beautiful gifts with our products. You should have come here fromWendy K
This is a christmas card with a twist. The picture is framed and removable from the card. So after christmas they have a picture to keep on their mantel or wall

For the frame, I used Desert Sand cardstock to make a frame, stamped with flourishes with Tim Holtz Distress Inks ( I know, not CTMH but I really wanted that color). Then I cracked the frame by embossing it 3 times with UTEE and placed it in the freezer. Once it was cooled, I cracked it and went over it with Brown Staz-On.

Recipe : all Close to my Heart unless Stated

Cardstock - Desert Sand, Bamboo

B&T - Olivia

Ink - Pear, Brown Staz-On, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Fire Brick (Ranger)

Stamps - Circle of Love, A Little Everything

Booksmarts Dimensional Elements

UTEE (Ranger)

Pleated Ribbon (PinkPaisley)

This tent card does double duty as well since the center is removable and can be hung on the tree. Plus it is a shaker box.

Cardstock - Colonial White, Tulip

B&T - Veranda, Perfect Day

Ink - Creme Brulee, Tulip, White Staz-On

Stamps - A Timber, Cherished Flourishes

Die Cuts - Labels 4 (spellbinders)

Glitter Ribbon (Big Lots)

Micro Beads (unknown)

Acetate (from stash)

Ornament hangings (from stash)

I made this artwork for my open house to show what you can do with tags. These tags were very simple to make and would make a great gift.
Here is the close up of the tages. The hardest part was doing the rosettes. First because I didn't have any Pear cardstock so I dyed copy paper. The circles have Glitter Glitz rubbed all over them. I also stamped a border stamp on the letters.

  5. I like the removable frame -- and the cracked glass technique! I may lift the idea and put a magnet on the frame...ready to hang and display. The tags are a fun twist on the pennant type thing that seems to be the craze right now.
