Use all your scraps

use the tiniest scraps. long thin scraps can be used to make flowers, curls or even ruffles.
Small shaped scraps can be grouped together on a mat to make accents or backgrounds. You can also tear you scraps and piece together on a chipboard shape. Don't let any of your paper go to waste.

practical scrappers challange : Felt, Fabric or Tulle

I made this layout a while ago. I challenged myself to not use any paper on a page (cept for the photos) The layout is on chipboard, i used paint, ribbon and camo fabric for the background. The title is acrylic. I used my cricut to cut out the title, but not so it cut all the way out. then i added paint to make the letters stand out. and i also used metal dog tags, i had to while making an army page. That is my hubby during basic training. I love him so much.

use those paper bits

my fav way to use up small scraps of paper is by using my hole punch. i use the postive punch to mimic brads. this way i always have a match with my papers and less bulk. Plus no holes to hide on the inside of cards. I top off the 'brads' with liquid glass to make them look more like real brads. i tend to use my tiniest hole punch, but any size will work.

on this layout. i used my 'brads' around each corner on the largest photo.

on this card, i used two different size punches to make my 'brads'

practical scrappers challange : stickers

this is my entry for http://www.practicalscrappers.com/ challenge : stickers. the stickers are the brown part of the flower. they were water droplet stickers that i colored with brown staz-on and placed on a circle. HI is also a sticker that i stamped on.

this is a close up of the flower. the red flower is stamped on and the sticker 'flower' is added on top.this is how the sticker started out.

All products for the card are Close to my Heart, stickers are from unknown company. Sketch is week 102 from mojomonday.blogspot.com

h2h challenge 5

.
this is my card for the h2h challenge, card for mother's day. i tried a technique i have been playing around with. I placed the tulip cardstock on top of large butterfly from butterfly wings stamp set. i sanded the paper which only made an outline, then stamped over the sanding with versamark. i used chalk over the versamark cause it wasn't standing out as much as i wanted to.
I liked how it came out and can't wait to play with this technique more. If anyone tries this, please post a pic so i can see how yours turned out.
